Due to the play's nature of being a "whodunnit", and in hopes of it being performed again one day - there will be no plot description for 'Persona' - just a blurb:
The story takes place in and around Purple Dreams, a safe haven for runaways, where club owner Bob Drake offers work, a new identity and a chance of a new life. The arrival of a vengeful young man, however, soon threatens to expose the many secrets held within the club… A threat that drives someone to murder. "
Persona took a lot of work behind the scenes, and was the first production to need posters, programmes and any kind of set, The Bar was made by Frankie Miles, while Jo Manning (in her role as Production Assistant) designed the programmes. Tobias received help from Council marketing to design the initial poster, and Melissa McShane took all the promotional pictures.
Persona was also the first production to incorperate casting auditions. Initially Tobias offered all his current cast roles. Jo Manning initially declined, but once he started work on the project decided to become involved. Despite initially accepting roles both Claire-Marie Brown and Mel Broughton left the project, which paved the way to auditioning for their characters - C.J. and April (roles which would eventually go to Hayley Hewitt & Alexandra Woods. Initially, Craig Woolsey was linked to the role of Jack Evans, while the role of Mitch was written for Jamie Nuttall. Jamie couldn't commit to a such an integral character and was replaced. The replacement actor then became the first actor to ever be axed from a Purple Dream production, at which point Craig moved up to Mitch and Jamie returned to the project, but now as Jack.
