Theatre In Education
Purple Dreams have entered the realms of Theatre in Education!
This latest venture sees Purple Dreams join forces with John Giller to create original new productions aimed especially at school children.
Currently touring is 'The Lion's Roar', based on an African Folklore Story of friendship and honour. Adapted, written and directed by John Giller (who has been teaching, writing and directing drama and theatre productions for over 25 years) to be both educational and entertaining for children aged 5 – 11 years. Tackling the problems of bullying and antisocial behaviour, with a strong focus on working together, this show plays for approximately 40 minutes. Using animal characters, songs and audience participation, this highly interactive show takes children on a journey to help Lion find his roar and in the process turn Crocodile from bad to good with the help of some of his animal friends.
"We were lucky enough to watch The Lion's Roar, a theatre production performance which was fantastic, with a strong theme of anti-bullying and enjoyed by all the children."
- Mrs Hartopp, Deputy Head Teacher, Howard Infant & Nursery School.
Special thanks go to Ashley Pearce at Mystic Magic for the fabulous hand-crafted masks. You can check out his work at:
